Instructions
1. Cook the Noodles
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
- Add the noodles and cook according to package instructions (or until al dente, if using homemade).
- Drain well, but reserve a small splash of cooking water to keep the pasta moist.
2. Prepare the Poppy Seed Mixture
- If using whole poppy seeds, grind them in a coffee or spice grinder until fine and fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix the ground poppy seeds with the powdered sugar (and vanilla sugar or lemon zest, if using).
3. Combine and Butter
- Return the drained noodles to the pot or a large bowl.
